RUSSELL CHRISTIAN draws obsessively motivated by the hope and a need to trip on something revelatory and surprising. The process involves getting out of his own way, subverting presumed actions, contrivance, habits and facility, to stumble on something unpredictable and compelling. This bloody minded approach yields piles of incomplete artworks and orphaned graphics, that get revisited, re-mined, whittled down and discarded.
